Hello, I have a machine that was working relatively fine until this morning when i tried logging on. I don't really know what details I can give because this is seemingly out of the blue.
I built this pc only a few months ago, haven't really done anything with it aside from gaming. It was working fine last night. However now when i try to logon to my admin account (the only account on the pc) the process endlessly hangs on the "Please wait for the User Profile Service" screen. I haven't installed anything new recently and I'm not sure where to begin with solving this issue. I have tried running in safe mode and got the same issue, I have tried the last good configuration and got the same issue, even tried startup repair just for the hell of it and found no issues.
OS - Windows 7 Home Premium
Cpu - i3-2100
Gpu - Gtx670
Ram - 8gb DDR3
Mobo - Acer H61H2-AD
The machine itself runs pretty well, however it has a problem where if i left it alone for too long it would freeze so i would have to always leave something running in the background to prevent that, opening firefox seemed to cause a similar freezing issue so I would have to use chrome. I don't know if that's relevant information but it was a thing.
If anybody can offer any suggestions to help figure out what the issue is I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for reading.

If you can get into the command prompt via the recovery menu then you could try to create a user account from there. Failing that, you could perform an installation of Windows and use the 'upgrade' option to get a fresh OS without losing your data. You could also install Windows to a new partition and copy your data that way.

A good option is to remove the drive and use a USB/SATA adapter to connect it to another computer and run an sfc /scannow command on the drive. You'll obviously need to get hold of an adapter to begin with, but they aren't expensive and can be a real lifesaver.

How would I do that if I am unable to log in whatsoever? I probably didn't state this clearly, the waiting screen does not end. I am unable to log on to the only account because when I try to log in it just stays on the "wait for user profile service" screen. I have no way of logging on to the PC at the moment.

Couldn't create a new account from the recovery menu however I was able to reinstall windows and keep my data. Seemed to fix my freezing issue as well. I'll definitely look into one of those adapters for future use. Also made a few other accounts to see what happens if this issue comes back. Thanks for the reply.
