What if a game needs more ram than you have?

Hello,
I want to download a game, and as usual i check systemrequirementslab to check if I can run the game. It says that i cannot run the game although everything is better than recommended except for the RAM. Recommended is an 8gb ram and i only have a 6gb ram. Would this make the gameplay worse?

Solution

Yeah, it could make your game less smooth than optimal. Look into upgrading your RAM in the future. For now though, go ahead and get your game; you'll be fine. To help with your 2GB RAM deficiency, keep RAM hogging apps closed, like websites(especially with tons of tabs open).

most games overstate there requirments but 8 gig is pretty much the recommended minimum to play AAA titles these days.
as said if your game uses more than the 6 gig you have it will start paging. and this will cripple performance as the hdd is nowhere near as fast as ram for read and write.
