Every time I bump my pc or plug anything onto any port on the back of my pc (including graphics card ports) my pc will reboot into a weird mode where the graphics card wont turn on but will occasionally start the fans for a second then turn them off again. Sometimes if I unplug any cable from the back ports (usb, dvi, hdmi, lan) and plug them back in, the pc will reboot again - sometimes into the weird mode with no display but everything else working fine (mouse, keyboard, cooling fans etc) or it will boot normally.

I have lots of experience with computers and can normally fix any problem I come across considering I built the machine I'm using. I'm just so stuck with what the problem could be, I have a lot of tech-savvy friends and they have no clue. I have taken it apart and rebuilt it twice now as well as taking out and plugging back in the graphics card four times. My next step would most likely be to buy a new case so I have more space to work with and replace the motherboard. Does anyone know what is wrong?

Specs:

Pulse Power PPS 750BR modular power supply;

I would think that there is a short somewhere.

Maybe some issue with the reset button?

Unplug the power cable and open the case.

Starting at the back use a magnifying glass and bright flashlight to carefully examine all connections, ports, stand-offs.

Look at the solder connections around the back ports: cracks, any signs of damage, expansion, looseness.

Look for dust, debris, worn insulation, bare wire sticking out somewhere - may be very small amount.

Especially around the graphics card.

Clean inside if necessary using canned air. Follow the correct procedures.
