I'm having trouble over connecting DC power supply to new mainboard because they changed the power socket on mainboard. Its a D9F / D900F notebook[/color]. It's the same board I had to replace but a different socket. What is this four pin plug and corresponding socket called? Someone told me it's called DPXX but I can't find that. Anyone here know where I can source such a male/female converter cable? It's like a four-pin DIN with fatter pins. Can I show a picture? There's no add a picture here or am I being very foolish? It's really hard to describe a part that only makes sense by looking at it. Here it's telling me to provide more detail! Ooh. Hope some knowledgable person here knows cables & connectors!

Thanks Terry but this is a round DC plug with round pins. It's on the end of the DC wire from power brick which is 220W 11A. it plugs into back of laptop. That is the socket that's on mainboard. Mfr changed that socket from female to male now both ends are male!

So your power supply has male plugs and the replacement motherboard also has male plugs correct?

I would either buy a cheapo power supply off amazon/ebay, hack off the end and solder it to your orignal OEM power supply, or you could have the DC jack from the old board removed and soldered in the place of the new one. Issue is that you would have to use multipmeter to make sure the wiring pinout is the same.

Not sure why they had to make it so complicated vs a normal DC barrel plug.

Thanks for your suggestion. Yes, it's a rare type and mfr changed the gender for mainboard. Seems like transgender is appearing everywhere lately. Unfortunately it's also a brute being 19.5v 11A so no cheapo will cope!

Thanks again Terry. Mfr only wants to sell me new brick for big money. Trouble is at 11A 19.5v can't just go with a cheap third party brick and try to change the wire! Thanks again for such useful fast response. I couldn't believe how fast this community is to help. I just thought my message will be buried in thousands

Thanks Grandmaster, another interesting possibility.
