I am currently using a VGA only monitor as my main display. I run a VGA cable from the monitor to a VGA to DVI converter that plugs into the GPU. (It plugs into the DVI port next to the HDMI)
I saw on this forum post that the 6850 has two different DVI ports and the second port doesn't allow VGA conversion. Is there no way to use two VGA only monitors for this card?

I also tried using an hdmi to VGA converter
for the second monitor, but whenever I plug it in while my primary screen is in use, the GPU fan goes haywire and I lose display. The cable, converter, and 2nd monitor are not faulty because they work perfectly fine when I test them to extend display on my hdmi laptop. Is there a way to get this to work that I don't know about?
