Just built a new PC today, Here is the build

My monitor is plugged into the graphics card and it works fine but the card shows up as "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter" and I can't play any games at all. I've updated the bios and I tried updating the drivers for the card itself however it says they're already up to date.

The graphics card driver needs to be installed. The graphics card isn't being recognized. Check to see if the card is seated well and any additional power cables are connected

Download the graphics driver to a thumbdrive and unzip it. Then go to the Windows Device Manager and Display Adapters.

Highlight the graphics card if it is there. Then under Driver menu select Update Driver. Then select Browse and select your downloaded driver (on the thumb drive or other folder). Then let it update.

Turns out I needed to update to Windows 8.1 because the drivers aren't supported below that and thats why it was telling me they were updated. Everything is updated and working now so far, thank you!
