RAID 0 will give you twice the size of the smaller drive. If you put a 500GB and a 1TB in RAID0, you would get 1TB since the two slices have to be the same size. If you had two 1TB disks, then you would get 2TB.

It will also double the probability of data loss, since if either drive has a problem, the entire set of drives is lost.
