Core #3 is still much hotter despite reinstalling cooler

Some time ago I discovered that core #3 was significantly hotter than the rest, while at the same time one of the other cores was significantly cooler.
Asking this online it was brought to my attention that the CPU cooler may have been poorly installed, and that I should reinstall it and see if it got better.
Finally I did reinstall it yesterday (very carefully!) only to find that it was true that it had been poorly installed (by my friend back then, before I could handle this myself), especially the mounting kit being very uneven.

Long story short, the overall core temperature as well as the package temp was brought down significantly, but core #3 is still hotter than the rest. However the ratio has been decreased, and all other cores seems to be more uniform now with less thermal fluctuations.

Here's a chart when stresstesting in Aida64:
BEFORE
- CPU + Cache + FPU + Memory (for the IMC): Core #3 72C avg 81C max, the rest 64C avg 72-77 max (temps going all over the place)
- CPU only: Core #3 64C avg 66C max, the rest 56C avg 59 max

AFTER
- CPU + Cache + FPU + Memory (for the IMC): Core #3 63C avg 74C max, the rest 55-57C avg 64-70C max (still very dynamic thermals, but more contained and less frequent spikes)
- CPU only: Core #3 60C avg 62C max, the rest 52-54C avg 56C max

Why can it be that core #3 is still hotter, and what can de done about it?
Or perhaps this is a flaw in Aida64? Has anybody else seen something similar with Aida64?

PS. Kinda ghetto chart, I have screenshots if you want them

Solution
check the CPU socket of the motherboard for bent or colored pins

Did you remove old and apply new thermal paste?

Update the BIOS to version 3505:

downclock the CPU to stock

Maybe there are some small impurities in that little part of the silicone? CPUs are such hugely complex machines, there's really very little we can do as consumers to understand how they work and the mysterious behaviors they sometimes display...

Maybe someone can come along and provide some more wisdom, but I wouldn't worry about it. :)

It's normal for there to be some variation in temps, 5-10c from my experience. Cores are in a straight line - 1, 2, 3 and 4, with 2 and 3 being in the middle, so they're the hottest. A poorly attached heatspreader can cause a larger difference in temps, but that usually affects either core 1 or 4.
