Hi, I have a problem with my asus RT-N18U and that is that I cant chnage my nat type to either moderate or open, its always on strict. I want to get open nat type on my ps3, ive given it an static ip adress already. I tried opening all ports that were needed for call of duty, I have tried DMZ my whole router and the ps3's ip adress, didnt work. I tried turning off my routers firewall, didnt work... So, I dont really know whats left to try? I hope someone on here can help me out. But there's one thing, on my ps3 when I test my internet connection, it says that uPnP is available, so I guess it isnt using it properly but it's available, can that be the problem?

Try enabling uPnP on your router. That worked for me for both my XB1 and PS4.

You'll also need to enable uPnP on your PS3 by configuring your network manually. Don't change much of anything until you reach 'uPnP'; enable that. If done correctly; it will say ''not enabled" or "not available" - that means it's on and working. Now; when you go to play a game; the PS3 will send a signal to the router allowing the router to predetermine proper ports for your system.

That depends on the implementation of UPnP which isn't always equal. The point being putting a host in a DMZ negates the need for any NAT/PAT or UPnP, if it isn't working in a DMZ the problem is elsewhere. I wouldn't normally recommend a DMZ but its a console.

If that's the case; it very well may be a bug somewhere. Do you happen to have a different router you could try out? It's been a while, but; I recall back in the day of XB360 and PS3 - they wouldn't work for beans on my old Linksys router. I bought a netgear and all was well.

Well I recently bought this router, and I had some sort of TP link before and I remember I tried everything there too...

The last option I can truly think of is trying to kill all connectivity to the router except for your PS3 and see if that solves anything. If it does; add each device back to the network one by one - checking the NAT each time.

That did not work either... This is soo annoying so there is no way to get even moderate now then?
