As the title says, i'm just wondering if a Compact CPU Cooler has sufficient cooling capabilities for the 7700k.

Cooler in question: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/product/Lbhj4D/cryorig-cpu-cooler-c7

I'm not planning on overclocking, i only went with the 7700k because it was on sale near me plus it had a higher base frequency(compared to non-k). So would it be good enough? If not, the H7 is only $10 more so it's no biggie, i just simply prefer the look of the compact one as it isn't a giant tower trying to consume everything.

Thanks.

The i7-7700K is a well binned cpu that runs at relatively high clock rate stock and needs adequate cooling.
If you have the option for the cryorig H7, I would go that route.
Downdraft coolers are, in general, not very effective.
In addition, 92mm fans need to spin up to high rpm to do their job and will be noisy.
The 120mm fan on the Cryorig H7 will be both more effective and quieter.
It should be fine. 7700K has a 91w TDP, that cooler is designed for up to 100w TDP CPUs.

EDIT: I run the similar Noctua NH-L9i with my i5, and I can easily handle a 4.5ghz OC with it, even with Ivy Bridge's more power hungry 22nm fabrication.

If not overclocking then you can look at the Be Quiet! Shadow Rock LP. It will take care of your cooling duties without issue. Speaking of which, yo forgot to mention the case, the rams and the motherboard. Essentially your full system's specs. Please pass them on in order for us to tailor, perhaps, a better response.

*Having a 9W TDP headroom isn't what we call, an ideal solution.
