I have a Biostar H61MGV3 motherboard: (link) with an intel Core i3 3120 processor.

I want to buy an ASUS 710-2-SL graphics card (link) for enhancing the graphics experience.

Description of the product: ASUS Nvidia GeForce GT 710 2GB 64-Bit DDR3 PCI Express Graphic Card / PCI-E 2.0 / 2GB / DDR3 / 64 Bit / D-SUB/DVI-D/HDMI / HDCP support/ Low Profile / 192 Cuda Core / Direct X 12 / Silent passive cooling/ AUTO-EXTREME Technology

Are these two compatible? In Asus's website they have mentioned that the bus interface as PCI Express 2.0.

In Biostar website, they have mentioned that it has a 1 x PCI-E x16 3.0 Slot(supported by Core i5 -3xxx / Core i7 3xxx CPU). Does this mean that this slot is useless if I have an i3 processor?

Thank you for the reply.

My motherboard specs say that the PCI 3.0 x16 slot will only be supported by i5 and i7 processors. Does that mean it will function as PCI 2.0 x16 slot if I am using an i3 processor? Also, can I connect a PCI 2.0 x8 Graphics card into the x16 slot?

My questions are pretty basic; as I have no prior experience in building/re-assembling a PC

For running light to mid-range games. Just wanted something better than onboard Intel graphics HD. Could you suggest something nicer and cheap?

I understand that GT graphics cards are not for gaming, but from buyer's reviews(link), it sounded like this card would suffice for my needs.
