Hello, My name is Jordan. I'm pulling 25 in-game FPS right now..

I know nothing about Graphics cards or CPU's and what they can handle. I have my Eyes set on the GTX 1060 6Gb. I am not sure if this works with my CPU or which Cards i should be looking at. Im not trying to spend too much more than 350 max.

I have an
-AMD FX(tm)-6300 Six-Core Processor (6 CPU's, 3.5GHz
-8GB RAM
-AMD Radeon R7 200 Series
-64 bit Op Sys, x64 based processor
I Grabbed this PC from CyberPowerPC. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Just asking someone to point me in the right direction. The low FPS is affecting me greatly in games like H1z1.

Once again, thank you for any help in advance.

Could we get a more specific model of the GPU? R7 2xx? Also if you can provide it, your power supply model.

The FX-6300 will hold you back more than anything. I would not recommend a GTX 1060 unless you're able to overclock that CPU to a great extent. You might be better off dedicating the $350 to allowing us to design you a new cpu/mobo/ram/gpu upgrade, and saving an extra $100 would help if you...

I'd check to see if there is an update for your drivers. Monitor your processes running what's running while playing video games. I'd recommend task manager which is built into Windows. I'd monitor CPU temperatures as well because sometimes high temperatures (pre-overheating) can cause issues.

Make sure Windows is up to date as well.

Even the latest Pentium blows the water out of the FX63xx and FX83xx series CPUs (at most games, but the FX wins at server/workstation) and can be had for $65. Should aim higher of course, but it's an example of where that FX-6300 stands. Just a thought!

Otherwise a RX460 or 1050 Ti would be my recommendaton.

An r7 is a 265 at best (which is an old 7850 really)
So irregardless of the 6300 at stock being fairly weak nowadays its still certainly capable of running better than that card.

I think your really low fps in h1z1 is down to both CPU & GPU in all honesty.
Its an unoptimised mess of a game & with an fx chip (even at 4ghz) you won't see past 40fps.

You could certainly drop a RX 470 in there but I wouldn't go any higher unless you find a 480 very cheap.

We need to know

1. Your PSU model (being a cyberpower its likely crap quality ) you need to open your case & let us know the model number off the label - or better take an picture & upload it.
2. Your motherboard model - download cpu-z & the info will be on the main board tab
