I am looking for a gpu that can run 1080p over 60+fps. My monitor is 1080p and 144Hz. I am going to run a i5-7500. I don't plan on ever overclocking. I would prefer that the gpu isn't pre-clocked out of the box. What is a good gpu? I want to use this gpu for maybe 3-4 years. I don't care if it is amd or nvidia. As long as it is under $250. Thanks in advance!!

wait for a good deal with an gtx 1070, i dont know what you wanna play, but run a gpu 3-4 years today is maybe not working at all, cause the time is coming where cpus use more cors in games and better displays are coming out with more hz every "month". but if you really wanna do that, go with a gtx 1070

Sounds like a GTX 1070 would be a good option for you based on your resolution and refresh rate.

If you're interested in AMD, maybe consider waiting to see what the specs are on VEGA when they're available.

The gtx 1070 is out of my price range. What is the best gpu under $250 that can run 1080p at 60+ fps?

I mean $380 isn't horrible is it? Not a lot over budget. You think it's too much? Okay. FINE!!! Enter spring15 as your promo code. That will be about $57 off your order. Now it's only about $23 over budget. That;s not too bad is it? Register that card with EVGA if you do choose to buy it.

Now you dropped your budget even more? With a 144Hz monitor? Ouch. Sorry.

You're squarely in the GTX 1060/RX480 price range, then. However, I really don't think it's realistic to expect one of these cards to yield 60+ fps in 4 years at anything but low settings.

At any rate, the 1060 Vs. 480 debate is not one i'm really interested in being involved in. If you search, you will find countless threads that have rehashed that argument over and over. I'm sure you'll be able to make a decision based on what you find.

Within 4 years, that is hard to say as both companies have a tendency to rebrand their GPU lines. I currently have a 7770 (4 yrs old) running at 1080p and am just now getting to the point where medium settings are no longer attainable (mainly due to a lack of GPU RAM). It is comparable to around the Nvidia 650ti/750ti range. It also really depends on the titles you play.

This may all quickly change though with VR being the hot topic atm for GPU development.
