PC making screeching/squealing sounds

Hey,
So this never used to happen but I was out of the house for 2 days and my dad turned the plug on the wall off which turned my whole setup off (It was already shut down before he did this) and now there is a VERY quiet screeching/squealing sound coming from the PC and I haven't tried turning it off and on yet that might fix it but it's not noticable at all you can only hear it if you sit infront of the pc and listen very carefully but it's still there and anything that seems out of the ordinary gets me worried so i'm just asking if this is okay and whether or not I should worry about this and how I could possibly stop it? If you need any more information about my PC etc just ask.

With any weird sound issue, first step is to open case and locate which component makes the sound. For now nothing can be said, whether it is non-issue or possibly a critical problem - not enough data. Locate the sound first.

It's most likely coil whine. Annoying, but not harmful.

removing power from a PC that is shut down should not cause ANY new issues, So, does this noise appear with the PC shut down, or after it is powered on?

I've had a listen inside and i'm almost certain it's coming from the power supply.

PSU sounds are not good news usually. I would start with checking power cable if it is fully plugged into PSU and the wall. Then try another cable.

Some PSU/MB have a "keep alive" function where there is power used even after shutdown. The PSU is still "on", and the MB has a LEB on the back that is lit, indicating that the PSU is delivering power to the motherboard. Just trying to determine if the sound is coming from the PSU or the motherboard.

My PSU does deliver power to the motherboard after shut down since my motherboard has these little LED light things on it and that.
