Will a CryoRig h5 universal fit on a Asus TUF Mark 1 z270 mobo?

It looks like it will, but i'm not going to say yes for sure. Here is how I arrived at that hypothesis.

Review of the mark 1: http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/70579-asus-sabertooth-z170-mark-1-motherboard-review-12.html

That is the NH-U12S cooler and they claim it clears the armor fine. See how they have the fan reversed in that one pic and it sits on top of the armor instead of beside it.

Note the Noctua has 41mm from the base to the fins. This information doesn't seem to be available for the R5 so...

The fan on the R5 is a 140mm but it has 120mm mounting points. The distance between the holes are about 105mm spaced.

Going by the image of the R5 on the Cryorig site (it is scaled properly) there seems to be about 50mm from base to fins. The fan should be fine even though it overhangs the bottom.

or you could measure it yourself from base to fins and see if it is at least 40mm.

Hmm. thanks for the effort. My cooler is a mid tower so maybe it will fit? and perhaps the standoffs for intel are a bit taller?
Still too close to call lol.

Have you used the Mk 1 and the cryo or? I measured it and its only a 33mm gap from base of mobo to the bottom of fin stack, the reference noctua had 41mm.

Yes Cryorig R5 Universal will fit on ASUS Z270 TUF Mark 1 without any problems. Cryorig R5 Universal comes with 0 RAM Interference which means there will be no problem at all with installing the RAM.

Noo, i dont think you understand, its not the ram clearance i have an issue with, i know that it has none, what im asking is that the shroud on the MOBO might be too tall to fit the Cryorig on.

If you still have doubts about it. They provide Compatibility Tester at bottom of the page of Cryorigh H5 Universal. Print it and test it.

Pc part picker always says things are compatable, and once again im not worried about the Ram room. im more worried if the heat sink itself would be tall enough to stand above the TUF armor on the side

As you see that From what i can tell hangs over that peice of plastic, with its 41mm gap between mobo base and the bottom of heatsink, the Cryorig h5 will only have about 33mm from base to base.

I have both a Z170 Mark 1 and an H5 universal that I have used on it, can confirm that it does indeed fit with no problems whatsoever. Just... make sure you get everything on the board around the cooler that you need to before you seat the cooler.

Edit: Oh boy, I didn't read the dates on this. Didn't mean to contribute to a necro, but there's the answer.
