Hello,
I have a Seagate Barracuda ST500DM02 hard drive. Yesterday, I curriously wanted to remove the PCB from the bottom of the drive to see what it looks like. (I Have not opened the drive, just removed the pcb from the bottom). I put it back and screwed it, and the drive works perfectly (it has 100% health, 160 days of operation - like it was before , nothing strange)
However, I read in a forum that removing the PCB and putting it back again, if not done in a totally dust free environment, will cause the drive to fail sooner.
Is that correct or not? So far everything runs fine.
Thanks
