Having an issue where after installing the new creator update and the Nvidia 381.65 driver (haven't tested any others) the computer will not get past the bios after reboot. It will go into safe mode and once the driver is uninstalled it will boot again. I have also tried this with a clean install of windows and the same things happen. It only happens under the new creator update. The 381.65 driver runs fine under the previous version of windows. What could this be? What does the creator update add that could conflict with the drivers?

Graphics card is mobile GTX 1070

Seems like its best not to update for now then. Guess its a bit buggy. Although I feel like my issue might not get resolved even when the update gets some patches, because I can't really find anyone with this issue anywhere. I know its not the hardware so maybe its some program installed or a setting in the BIOS somehow affecting this driver. But a clean install left the same problem. So maybe an MSI pre-installed program.

My 1050Ti is working fine, for now with those drivers installed. My issue is that DISM no longer works...no source files found and no way to fix (even using media created with Media Creation Tool). Someone else has noticed that chkdsk doesn't work for them anymore. It looks like there are several bugs that affect some but not all systems. When you installed your driver, did you choose "Express" or "Clean Install." Try the latter, if you haven't already. Also, if everything else is working right, and you're set on not reverting back to Anniversary Update, maybe try removing Windows.old and leftover Windows Update folders...there could be a conflict there?

I did try the clean install and I still had the same thing. I've went back to the anniversary update. I did also post on the nVidia forums and there seems to be lots of people with the same problem, mostly mobile graphics cards it seems. Apparently its a problem with the latest driver and using the one before that is the fix.

I rolled back to the anniversary update as well. Then I installed the geforce "creators update compatible" update, then reinstalled creators update. Same problem as before. But this time instead of rolling back, I connected my on board graphics. I then installed the previous drivers again which gave me back the nvidia gfx. I ran the latest update again and it installed no problem but when I installed the Game Ready driver again, that's when it went sideways. So I reinstalled the previous drivers again then the updated drivers and this time I didn't install the Game Ready driver. Everything is working perfectly now, but the Game Ready system is using old, probably incompatible, drivers. Which I can live with, but would like to think nvidia can sort this out sometime soon.
