Is my ssd dead?

So being spring cleaning time, my pc was getting a bit dusty. A simple routine of using the dust can to blow away my worries. I decided that while I had it open, I wanted to add another drive. So, I moved my ssd to a different spot. I then needed a different sata power cable. I already had an extra one sticking around inside, so I plugged it in and powered up. But here's the catch: the spare sata power cable was plugged into the perf slot on my psu. Idk if this has done anything but I noticed that an odor was released around the connectors on the ssd. I have tried multiple cables that work on other drives, but not the ssd. I am currently doing a power cycle to see if I can save it. It would be nice to have another viewpoint on this. The drive is not showing up in the sata devices list in the bios. I really don't want to lose this drive, so any help would be great! Thanks!

Ps: I am using the EVGA dg-87 case. This is important because it requires a sata power connection and a molex connection. I used the perf plug to power the sata power and that is why this happened.
