How long will GTX 1070 last on 1080p 30FPS?

Hi,
I bought a EVGA GTX 1070 SC black edition and I am curious to know that for how long will it run all the games (maxed out, maybe turning down supersampling) on 1080 a 30FPS or more.
Currently it can easily fetch 75+ FPS on almost all the games maxed on 1080p, and I have never seen such a relatively powerful GTX x70 GPU before (not even 970). What you guys think?
Thanks

Dont worry much ... it is a strong card , by the way , it is not adviced to keep any GPU card for more than 2 years , after 2 years sell it for half the price and get the newest generation of that time.

If you wait for 4 years then you will never sell it for a good price and you will end up paying full price of the newer card.

so dont worry much about it :) , Enjoy it for 2 years , sell it for half price , and buy the newest Gen after 2 years. if you repeat this , you will never pauy full price of a new card ever again just half every two years :) .. you will skip a gen or two ofc :)

This is usually done if you have a GTX x60 or lower card. Like , I bought GTX 960 4gb and it wasn't that good card even at that time, and now it's not even able to max out many games and fps drops below 30. However, 970 is still a very powerful card. So this rule usually applies to lower end cards. And I highly doubt that I would be able to sell the 960 for half the price. Anyways , my only requirement is to max out every game with 30+ fps, and as long as it's happening , I don't need an upgrade, and by purchasing GTX 1070, I have planned to skip Volta as well as the next generation after Volta. I just hope it lasts for 4 years atleast on 30fps maxed gaming.

no one said sell it when it hits half value . it was just an example. after 2 years he could sell it well over half price as well ...

and big no it is never a worthless idea i ve been doing this for more than 10 years .

and if you are too late in selling, you will end up losing everything... not even half price. and will end up paying more as well at the end .

I would guess it will last you 3-5 years. There is no definitive answer since we do not know what kind of games are going to be out if a few years or how they'll run on contemporary hardware.

I don't see why you'd care about "max settings" much if all you want is 1080p 30fps. The highest settings in many games don't usually improve the graphics in any appreciable way and really hurts performance. It would be a much wiser choice to go with the 1060 and aim for medium/high. Won't make much difference in practice and would save you nearly $200. Seeing as you mentioned that you already bought a 1070 I guess this point is irrelevant.

I still regret purchasing GTX 960. FPS dips below 30 in quite a few games and I have to turn down shadows which looks kinda bad. Also getting decent anti aliasing is a problem. If I had a GTX 970, I would have probably skipped Pascal.
However, since Pascal is a very powerful gpu architecture, maybe getting a 1060 could have been a good choice but I want something to last longer and hence bought 1070. As you can see, GTX 1060 performs like GTX 980. However GTX 960 couldn't even beat GTX 770, so there are some really good things about the Pascal architecture.

But yeah, from other answers I think it's safe to say that GTX 1070 serve my purpose (30 fps max 1080p gameplay) for at least 3.5-4 years.
