GTX 1080 VS 980ti Sli?

So basically I want to get input on comparing these. So I own both a EVGA GTX 1080 FTW, and 2 MSI GTX 980ti SeaHawks. I simply need to know what performs better overall. These will be pushed on a 1440p 144hz monitor. I do not mind the higher power draw.

Specs:
i7-6700k @ 4.6ghz
32gb Ram @ 3000mhz (Corsair LPX 4x8gb)
Gigabyte z170x ud5h
Corsair RM850

Same... get a 1080 Ti. I wouldn't worry too much about the liquid cooling, they will run perfectly fine on air and are cheaper than the liquid cooled ones as well.

I will but im waiting for a water cooled version, as none are available/released yet

I believe 2 GTX 980 tis are more powerful than a single GTX 1080, but I'd agree with the other guy, either buy a GTX 1080ti or even the new Titan Xp if you're willing to spend $1200
