I was going to download the new driver for my GPU I had 378.78 the driver install failed (never has happened I actually tried a clean install, restart, uninstalled current drivers) so I went to boot into safe mode and when I do I cannot type in my windows password field to log in.
I have tried different USB ports (the mouse works fine)
I had an OC and reset my uefi settings (which I really hadn't toggled with)
Powered down PC, unplugged it from wall, held down power button ~15 sec, and unplugged devices, powered on, waited for login screen, plugged devices in. Same thing mouse works keyboard doesn't, the lights still work on it fine.

Please help I have some very important work due tomorrow evening and need to get into my PC.

Thanks to anyone ahead of time :]

if you don't need to add any extra work to the stuff you have due tomorrow, you could try making this on another PC: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/use-ubuntu-live-cd-to-backup-files-from-your-dead-windows-computer/ and use it to copy files off the PC.

I assume its a wired keyboard? You need to see if it works on another PC or try another Keyboard on PC

you could try to download the Windows 10 media creation tool and use it to make a win 10 installer on USB, and use USB to boot into advanced startup and see if Keyboard works here, and use start up repair as it might fix the keyboard problem

change boot order so USB is first, hdd second
boot from installer
on screen after languages, choose repair this pc, not...

choose troubleshoot
choose advanced
choose start up repair - this will scan PC and maybe fix this - will ask for logon info

in same advanced window is Command Prompt, just typing int there willk tell you if the problem is hardware or drivers as when you boot off USB it uses generic drivers, not the installed ones.
