Hi,

I have a HP Proliant SE326M1 G6 Server. Basically I want to use the motherboard from it and put in an EATX case. Mainly because of the noise and power usage of the fans and the fact the server has 2.5 inc bays only.

So far I think the only problem stopping me doing this is a connector on the PSU. This connector is for the power backplane. I have tried an ATX PSU, and everything lights up but will not start due to the missing power backplane connector

Is there a ATX PSU which will work with this server motherboard?

Thanks

It's a proprietary connector on a hp designed motherboard. The server was never meant to be in any other case except the one it was destined for. So either use the hp psu or nothing. I know it sucks but nothing you can do about it.

Actually I was able to run HP Z600 (which also has a proprietary PSU/connectors) with an ATX PSU, I had to buy a ATX24pin to 18pin adapter and it was smooth sailing from then. I am using Enermax MaxPro 700W 80+ (EMP700AGT) with EPS12v2.92 and SSI standards which allows me to power up dual Xeons I installed. The only issue was 5 pin fan connectors instead of 4 pin but I changed them to aftermarket ones and I'm set.
