Questions on upgrading PC rig

I won't go into the full specs to save time, but I'm currently running a superclocked EVGA GTX 780 with an i7-4770k. I am wanting to upgrade my GPU to the new GTX 1080 ti, but would it be recommended to upgrade my CPU as well? My rig, in general, has not given me any trouble but it's going on 4 years old now and I had some extra money saved up and thought why not. Does anyone recommend anything else before upgrading? Thanks for any responses!

P.S. Also, I normally buy EVGA products but would anyone else recommend other companies (MSI, Gigabyte, etc.)?

Solution
Like the BenQ, they do make some good stuff, don't they?
Let's get something clear: I'm a tightwad, I HATE spending money (even if it's not mine ;) ) so I suggest you look at the GTX1080 rather than the more expensive GTX 1080Ti, there's no need to upgrade anything else, your system is really strong, and a 'mere' GTX1080 is till an really powerful card.
Your call, it's down to money on the GPU upgrade, but check the memory specs too, Haswell loves fast memory, for gaming it'll only be a few FPS but from my own experiences it'll be at the minimum framerates where fast memory makes a difference.

That's true, sorry for that. I have both an SSD, and 16GB of RAM as well as 850w PSU. So I think I am good in those departments. But okay, thanks for the reply and helping out, I appreciate it!

Agree fully with SkyNetRising, we need full specs, including PSU and monitor details.
Also, what is your total budget for this upgrade cycle?
In the meantime, what display/s are you using? The current CPU is still an excellent gaming part but a card like the GTX1080Ti really needs at least a 2560x1440 display to show its potential, and a fast Freesync or Gsync monitor at that.

That's true, sorry for not including it. So right now I have the CPU and GPU I listed, an 850w PSU, ASUS Z87 Plus motherboard, 2TB HDD, 256B SSD. My monitor is a 24" BenQ 1080p.

Do you want me to unselect Skynet Rising as the Solution and keep the thread open?
In the meantime, which BenQ display do you have? A 60Hz 1080 display isn't going to tax a GTX1080Ti, my own GTX1080 virtually disses games on a 2560x1440 monitor!

I unselected for now and I'll keep it open a little longer. Yea my monitor is 144hz. Here's the link for it just in case: https://www.amazon.com/BenQ-XL2420TE-Performance-24-Inch-Monitor/dp/B00D7IG556/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1491680070&sr=8-11&keywords=benq+144hz+1ms

Thanks for the help
