So I recently purchased a GTX 1060 6GB a few weeks ago. Been playing Skyrim Special Edition and GTA V perfectly fine. But now all of a sudden, my computer suddenly shuts off. It only happens during games usually about 15 minutes in. Sometimes it happens as the game loads. Then it won't boot until I flip the switch on my power supply off and on.

I'm not sure if this is a bad graphics card, or a bad power supply. I've monitored my temperatures during gameplay and the gpu never goes over 65c. The processor never shows anything higher than 50c. I also ran memtest and found nothing.

My old graphics card (XFX Radeon HD 6870 1GB) was causing a similar problem. It would cause weird graphical glitches, then the screen went black, then the computer would shut down after a bit. This time it just shuts down instantly, so I'm not sure its the graphics card. Any ideas?

Thats a fail safe in the PSU, You're PSU is on its way out, its either getting hot (check the fan and see if its spinning) or you have to much load on it by the sound of it.

I doubt its a short circuit as you can run games for awhile and run desktop activities just fine. How old is that powersupply?
