I'm new to PC building and when I was planning my PC build, I didn't know which cpu water cooler brand to buy from. I don't know why the NZXT AIO cooler is super pricey but a lot of people still buy it.

Solution
both are shinny toy crap.
so just pick the one that is more shinny in your opinion.
if you want a decent liquid cooler, get Swiftech H220 X2 or EK Predator.

The NZXT cooler is that expensive, just because marketing works and people agree to pay that ridiculous price. Their (crap) coolers are maid by asetek which also produces them for Corsair, EVGA, TT and others. the main practical difference is the fans, the main marketing difference is the lighting.
so there is reason other than people's stupidity that NZXT would be able to charge twice the price of similar units made on the same factory, 90% of the same components

I just bought and installed the NZXT kraken x52 AIO cooler, and it looks as good as it runs. Well worth it from every angle, was also my first AIO cooler.

The EKWB AIO's also allow for loop expansion as well, I believe... I love my EKWB stuff.

That's why I bought the MSI SeaHawk... EKWB cooler and no need to void the warranty :D

SeaHawk is more expensive than GTX 1080+EK Block and Backplate :)
That's why many liquid whores like me tend to buy EVGA cards + GPU block.
Removing the cooler does not void their warranty as long as in case of RMA you return the card i original state. well, even if it's modified, they just don't promise to return modifications. if they going to send you new card, all customizations will be lost

My last two 980's were FTW's with an EK block on each... Loved those things.
