Very High Ram Usage

Hello everyone, two days ago I noticed that my laptop is taking longer to shut down and my fps is very bad in games, so I restarted my laptop, Then I went into task manager and noticed that 95% of my memory is being used without running anything. I have 32 GB ram how is this possible? I tried to full scan with windows defender and the result was good. Can anyone help me out? Thank you.

I disabled it and restarted, but nothing happens. I don't think it's the antivirus causing it as I was using it for 2 years now.

Only other thing i could think of is possibly faulty ram, in task manager does it list that you have the 32gb (31.9gb) of ram?

It does list that I have 32 gb of ram and just by opening google chrome 31.3 gb of 32 gb is being used...

I would test each RAM stick by stick to determine if one is somehow corrupt, there so should be no reason for a simple application to use all the RAM. If that does nothing i would then recommend a fresh windows install.

Is this happening only when chrome opens?

and running the PC with only one stick of RAM at a time to see if any of the indevidual sticks might have a fault
