Help Me Build A Decent Gaming Desktop

Hello again. I posted a thread before but didn't get any decent answers so I assumed my thread got

lost.

I am new to building a desktop but am very motivated to start my first one.

I would like to be able to run basically anything on Ultra Graphic Settings, such as Battlefield 4 or

Overwatch.

There isn't necessarily a max on my budget but I don't want to spend money on something I dont

"NEED" like an 800 dollar graphics card. I really just need help building the tower, everything in it,

and picking a good monitor, at least 30 inches. Keyboard and mouse I will take care of unless there

is specific ones you need for specific builds.

I really just don't know what part I should base my build off of first. Which parts need to go together

essentially?

Pcpartpicker.com will have all those answers. A full list of everything that should be in a pc or options of what could be. Has a full listing of prices by respected vendors and multiple choices.

There are some caveats to your requests though. A 30" or better monitor is huge. To get a decent picture you'll want 1440p. If you opt out for 1080p instead, you'll need to sit much further back or you'll see nothing but pixels. Think sitting to close to the TV, the picture just gets bad. To play ultra settings with decent fps that doesn't stutter or skip frames in BF4 at 1440p /144Hz you'll 'need' a powerful gpu, a gtx1080 or 1080ti. Those aren't for the budget oriented. For the cpu to keep up with the gpu, best bet is an i7 or R7. Expect to come off the cash there too. Don't forget the motherboard, you didn't specify OC or not, but the more powerful cpus demand better cooling and OC demands much more. Case is a personal choice, it's just a box to hold the parts inside that has certain connections or drawbacks if the choice doesn't fit. Storage? At that budget, definitely will want a decent ssd with a hdd for mass files, ssd choice can be motherboard dependent but bigger has more adaptability.

Better to go to pcpartpicker.com and read up on the builds there or Google some builds that are around your total budget, see just how much monitors you want cost ($1000 isn't bad for a 30" 1440p /144Hz with G-Sync), then settle into reality.

Yea I figured I would be spending more than 2k on something that runs ultra for top games. Thanks for quick response!

This is a decent start, didn't add kb/mouse etc or any WiFi if you need that.
Add @ $700 to that price when the 1080ti actually gets in full production and more partner cards other than Evga become available that aren't blower style Founders Edition.
