I decided to build a pc, it turned out great but the bios doesn't show up if I have two ram slots occupied but when I take out one and reset the pc, it shows the bios. So it only starts when I have only one ram stick inserted. So how do I use both of them. Please tell a step by step instruction this is my first pc.

Note- I have a asus z170 a atx motherboard and I got two corsair 8 gb 2666mhz ram. Please tell me if
you need more information. Also I don't have windows installed yet so I can only use the bios for now.

Solution
Are the two Corsair 8 GB modules from a dual channel kit? Or are the two modules not from a kit?

Check that the CPU is mounted evenly.

When installing memory modules, make sure they are inserted firmly.

Using ONE module, try different memory slots and see if computer boots OK. Possibly one or more memory slots may be faulty.

***********************************************************************************************

With one module installed, boot into BIOS.

Increase DRAM Voltage by 0.05 V, but don't exceed 1.35 V.

Save BIOS settings and exit.

After shutting down computer first (of course), install second module, start computer again.

Can you tell me how you got it to work please? I have the same problem

Check that there is no damage, nor dust, dirt etc on or amongst the memory module contacts and also check the memory slot(s).

Make sure the CPU is mounted evenly. Could also remove the CPU and check it and its socket for any damage, dust, dirt, debris etc. If OK remount CPU carefully and evenly.

If still have problems, boot into BIOS (pressing DEL or F2 key when (re)booting usually gains access to BIOS). Navigate in BIOS to DRAM Voltage setting. This setting is most likely located in a "sub-menu". Increase this voltage by 0.05 V. Don't exceed 1.65 V (for standard DDR3 memory modules). Save this setting in BIOS. Then reboot computer normally.
