I am getting a new tv in my livingroom, and want to dedicate a htpc out there for just streaming kodi(movies and tv shows at the highest quality available), occassional social media web browsing, and small-light gaming for my girlfriend who plays sims 3 ect.

and ty for updating me to pascal, wasnt sure how a dedicated gpu on a computer end would factor into streaming to 1080p/2160x1440p+ content to a tv so appreciate it!

I have that same Rii i8 wireless controller.
It is "ok".
Gaming with it? Not a chance for anything beyond Solitaire.

At 15', line of sight, it starts to lose connection.

yeah for more then browsing it certainly has delay and unresponsiveness, going to look at wireless solutions as well as a way to implement a swinging desk to the couch to play on

No, but you need to be aware of the port limitations on the TV itself. Looks like it only has one HDMI2.0 port, whereas all the others are v1.4:

thats unfortunate, im going to look at see if the other versions have more than one 2.0 port
