the issues is not cpu you need to change or not. the problem is the motherboard you have can basely upgrade to 4gb of ram the average game requires more than 4gb of ram (Windows alone needs 4gb to run properly), combined with a much better video card, which will mean more than likely a new PSu as well to support the new video card, all in all your looking a t a major upgrade to modern computer. here is my suggestion that will be a LEAP forward, you hard droive as well is not sufficient for new games, too small.

basically your looking at a completely new computer it is not worth spending 400$ on upgrades when you can get full new and reuse your case for it.
