Do you still need to update the bios of a newly bought motherboard

So Ryzen has launched and it has been bombarded with lots of BIOS updates and I don't know if you still need to update your motherboard even if it's newly bought

Yes, You may need to. They mainly include bug fixes, support for newer CPUs, newer additional features,etc. But it is not always necessary to update it, unless the manufacturer recommends it. These updates may sometimes cause damage to your BIOS.

That depends on the Board manufacturer. Each manufacturer has their own methods and utilities to do the update. You should consult your manufacturer's website for information on updating the BIOS.
