Hello!

I have a router with a built-in IP-telephone adapter. My problem is that I can log in to the router in order to configure it but there are no setting for configuring the IP-telephony. I’ll try to explain:

When i log in to the router I see the following setting tabs only: |WIRELESS| |STATUS| HELP|

According to manuals online there should be the following tabs to be seen: |SETUP| VOIP| SWITCH| ADVANCED| WIRELESS| TOOLS| STATUS| ACCOUNT| PHONE| STORAGE| PRINTING| HELP|

Most likely my IPS-provider, who sold me the router, has limited the access to some setting and he will not help me as I am not using his IP-telephony service. My new IP-telephony service provider can not help me either as he doesn’t support the router in question and he wants to sell me his telephony adapter, but I have enough plastic boxes, cords and cables as it is and do not want any additional devices and cables.

I have heard there are workarounds for this kind of router issues, but the question is how to do it?

Could anybody help, please.

It's possible you won't find any solutions, especially since the ISP device has been restricted. The telephony on the router is likely proprietary, so it will more than likely not work with the VoIP provider's service. You might be able to purchase your own telephony modem/router that will allow access to all features, provided it is compatible with both the ISP and VoIP services.

You should provide more info, such as make and model of modem/router, and the names of the providers. There's a chance that a forum member can provide more guidance with your specific situation.

Thank you for your kind answer BuddhaSkoota.

The router in question is a Tilgin 2332. The providers are not relevant as I reside in Scandinavia. I just wanted to know whether there is a “backdoor” I could use in order to enable me full access to the router settings.
