If you get the 1600 instead of the 1600x, you'll get a cooler with it, which is a pretty decent cooler, and does the job until you get yourself another custom cooler, I don't know if the stock cooler comes with the 1600x, but the 1600 itself will easily clock upto 1600x speeds and save you £30.

why wouldn't i:)?, if you had a liquid cooler and your switching platforms wouldn't you rather make your current cooler work into the new platform instead of throwing it and buying a new cooler. i mean if it is possible with maybe buying some separate mounting bracket or kits, that's what i'm looking for.

your right, but i'm pointing at the 1600x because i want to go upove the 4.00ghz mark which the 1600 will struggle and most likely won't be able to pass due to it's low boost clock speed, and yes the 1600x doesn't come with stock cooler.

Those are all Intel sockets, its an Intel cooler made by Intel themselves, for there sockets only, they are never going to make a bracket to support AMD platforms, only a 3rd party company or universal cooler would do that.

I doubt you'll get it above 4ghz, at the end of the day, they are still R7 CPU's with basically faulty cores switched off, chips that didn't meet the R7 standard, and not many R7's are getting above 4ghz, most hit 3.8-3.9ghz.

My R7 1700 does 3.9ghz comfortable, 4ghz which a tonne of extra voltage and heat, however the 1800x does 4.0ghz-4.1ghz basically 100-200mhz more for £200 more, not worth it.

when buying from amazon some coolers from corsair for example will support the am4 but you have send an email to corsair asking for an AM4 bracket to the cooler your are buying, that what made me assume that i can get such a bracket for my cooler as it is slimier to corsair and such brands coolers.

the 1600x is rated at 4.00 boost speed, for that i'm sure that it will get at least around the 4.2 mark especially with it's lower cores compared to the r7 ones

yes that's right, I got an AM4 bracket for my EK waterblock and most people like corsair are doing it too, but they are 3rd party companies, they don't care who's chips you use there cooler on as long as you carry on using there coolers, howeve they're not Intel, and Intel are not going to help you use your cooler on there only competitors chips and platforms.

Isn't that like asking why won't an Intel CPU fit in an AM4 socket? It was made for Intel branding. Sure it was made by some manufacturer that undoubtedly makes generic coolers. What motivation, would that manufacturer have in providing a cross-mount option? They would endanger the contract with Intel. You won't find a good way to mount that Intel cooler to an AMD socket IMO.

yes i can see your point and you are right about it, but there can be a mounting bracket which might fit the cooler from another brand beside the brand which made the cooler itself.
