I'm building my sisters computer for her and it seems she's missing a pcie cable. The GPU is a Geforce GTX 960. The PSU is a orion HP400DB. I double checked and made sure I wasn't missing the cable so I'm pretty sure its missing one of the pcie power cables. The GPU has 2 6 pin pcie sockets.

This is less expensive right now than the least expensive recommendable PSU at around 450W (the Corsair CX 450M from the new series).

You'll find it on the second tier of the list. It's an older PSU, which is why it's so inexpensive since they're clearing the remaining stock, but a rock-solid implementation of an older design.
That PSU is not suitable for GTX 960.
It gives 138W on 12V rail and should be rated at 150W not 400W.
GTX 960 alone uses 120W. There would be virtually nothing left for the rest of the system.

Using that PSU with GTX 960 is dangerous. You risk killing your system by using it.

Yes it has 3 molex connectors but im not sure how I would use them on this GPU.

Can you recommend one because I dont want to tell her to get a specific one and it not work. The motherboard is a GIGABYTE GA-H110M-S2H-GSM (rev. 1.0) LGA 1151 Intel H110 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard or something like that. The sockets look the same when I compared the picture and the motherboard I have installed in her case.

Literally any *quality* 450W PSU would work, you're trying to install literal junk into her build.

It's not perfect, but Tom's power supply tier list (http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html) is a good place to start, preferably one from the top two tiers.

Don't even consider any crazy idea to try to power a GPU with molex adapters from a fire hazard.

Yeah, almost all quality PSUs in that wattage range will come with two or three PCIE 6+2 connectors or a combination of 6 and 6+2 connectors.

If you bought the Orion recently return it. If not, trash it or if you know anyone in ISIS, install it in their PC when they're not at home.

I will tell her to return it and get her money back. The build she was getting recommended was from one of her friends who obviously doesn't know what hes looking at, so just to clear that up it wasnt me who told her to buy any of this cheap stuff. If you can recommend a 450 psu i'd appreciate i, I know you said any 450 would work from tier 1 and 2 but I still dont trust myself to pick one and it not work out.
