Hi guys,

I'm planning to get a Ryzen 5 1600 and wanted to ask which of these motherboards to get. They're all pretty similar in price, so I need your opinions.

I will run the Ryzen 5 1600 with 2x 8 GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200 Mhz RAM sticks and my old Sapphire RX 480. My PSU will be a 500w Corsair. My setup is pretty fixed already, so I only need the best mainboard out of this list.

-Gigabyte GA-AB350-Gaming
-ASRock AB350 Pro4
-MSI B350 Tomahawk
-Gigabyte GA-AB350-Gaming 3
-ASRock Fatal1ty AB350 Gaming K4

Would you also recommend me a AIO like a Cooler Master masterliquid 240 or can I stay with my old be quiet! pure rock slim?

Which one is the best mainboard and please also tell me why.

Thanks in advance!

+1, I had the MSI Mortar B350m and its an amazing board, the Tomahawk is its bigger brother, but do you really need 2 x PCI slots ?

I used to be a Gigabyte Fanboy, my first AM4 board was a Gigabyte, I was so disappointed, it felt cheap, performance was diabolical and the bios, well I dont think Gigabyte themselves could even be bothered, even looking at it now, theyve not really bothered with any bios updates for it, and after killing my RAM, I killed it.

So now I would put ASUS and MSI on the same level, its a tough one as to who put at the bottom between Gigabyte and ASRock, the Gigabyte boards look good, but thats all they have going for them.

If you are looking to overclock, have a look at the following 2 B350 boards due to the...

From my perspective, the Tomahawk is probably the highest quality B350 to get (although I may be a little biased since I have a mortar and it kicks ass). It shouldnt matter too much, but from what I have heard, ASUS, MSI and Gigabyte have the best AM4s (I've heard some people disappointed with ASRock so I'd be wary). Also, MSI have the best onboard sound out of the other ones, so bonus

If your be quiet! is working, and you dont feel a need to change, don't (but I can confirm that the liquid 240 is a pretty beefy cooler)

If you are looking to overclock, have a look at the following 2 B350 boards due to the chokes and VRMs :

If its just that list to go by, I would get the Tomahawk without a 2nd thought knowing what I know now.

As a ASRock AB350 Pro4 user i have to say that's is a good option for the price, its pretty cool and I did a good OC to my processor with no problems because of the good VRM, OCing the RAM is pretty easy because the ASROCK BIOS can use XMP 2.0 profiles, so the OC is automatic and you dont need to touch anything if you're not going up to 3200MHz.
