Having a problem with the resolution after installing rx 460 2gb. cant be change the resolution from 1024x768 recommended to a higher resolution. If ill change the resolution the monitor will turn black and will return to 1024x768 resolution. I already update the gpu driver but still hasnt been change. Is there anything wrong with the gpu or having a problem in a hardware?

SPEC:
Mobo: Gigabyte Ga F2a78m-HD2
Ram: 4gb 1600mhz
CPU: amd a10-7860k
GPU: gigabyte radeon rx 460 2gb oc

im using apu gpu and uninstall all previous drivers then install the new one with clean installation. i already did what you told me and still it has 1024x768 recommended resolution. so i did to change my resolution is screen resolution>advanced settings> list all modes then change it to higher resolution.

As for a reference, it's good to know what monitor and cable you are using. Normally the resolution jumps to the highest during installation of the graphics card.

i used 19" samsung monitor standard and buy dvi-d to vga to connect it to gpu dvi-d slot. maybe i should buy widerscreen? what do you think sir?

I guess this setup does not work because the card does not support analog signal. You must buy a dvi-d/hdmi to vga "active" adaptor.

or should i buy dvi-d cable for it?

You must either buy a HDMI to VGA active adaptor or DVI-d to VGA active adaptor (they will do exactly the same job). The only difference between HDMI and DVI-D is that HDMI can carry audio, apart from digital signal. Remember that VGA supports only analog signal.

already using dvi-d to vga active adaptor but still the same recommended resolution 1024*768 and cant change to higher resolution

Are you sure it is active and not passive? If it is active, then what is the resolution that your monitor supports? What are your options provided when you go to change the resolution? It looks like that you are trying to force a resolution that is not supported...
Please give us the make and model of your monitor

its a samsung 19" monitor with vga and hdmi output. 1280x1024 max resolution but in my situation its recommending 1024*768 only having a rx 460 gpu and a dvi-d to vga active adapter

If your monitor has HDMI output then you must use a HDMI to HDMI simple cable. Avoid using VGA. It is analog, old and not supported by modern cards. I guess that way it will work.

Ok. So you must use a dvi-d to dvi-d cable. That should do it
