How do I delete a backup off of my sea gate external drive?

I have an external seagate 1TB drive that is running out of space, and I have a backup on it that I no longer need which means it is just taking up space. I have looked in the seagate software and online but I can't find how to I have an external seagate 1TB drive that is running out of space, and I have a backup on it that I no longer need which means it is just taking up space. They are in folders as CountMike stated, but worse case, if for some reason you can't find them, most all file backups like this create partitions.

Launch a DOS Prompt as admin, then:

Type> diskpart

Type> select disk (the backup will probably be disk 1)

Type < select partition= (enter the number of the earliest partition(s))

Type > clean

> Type "exit" twice.
