Hello

Looking For a graphic card and ram upgrade advice and possibley a monitor

Games which i would want to run are :

Transport fever And Cities skylines with mods and with decent settings with big mass/Cities etc

All i have is this so far

I7 2600K (basic stock cooler)
8Gb ram lp vengeance
Gtx 760
1tb hdd
Windows 10
Corsair gs 600 PSU
Asus P8 Z68 V Lx motherboard

Understand the cpu is old but just want this machine For simulation type games not games such as Gta V etc

So i would also need a screen/monitor and what ever else what might need upgrading

Ideally would like to spend less than £200 on this Pc just to run Transport fever And Cities skylines with mods with big maps Cities etc on high settings @ 1024x1020 res with no lag or disruptive gameplay

So is this possible on this Pc and please could you reccommend any upgrade in which i might need.

Appreciate it
Thanks

The GTX 760 is still no joke of a card, quite capable at 1080p. But I mean you are gaming simulator games at 1024x1020, Not sure if you would need anymore, especially since most of them are CPU intensive. Eitherway, you could just pop in an extra stick of 8 gigs. That would help quite a bit. Lets say that you'd get a stick for around 30$ that'd leave you with 170. Maybe get a bargain RX 470 Heck, some places have the 470 and 480 For the same price. Hell, no way on earth that CPU would bottleneck a 1070, let alone a 1080. It might be old, but it still is a machine.

Get a 8GB stick for sure. It will help you tons xD

By the way. Overclock your CPU ffs. Slap an AIO on there and start oC that b1tch. Not kidding. The 2600k Is still no joke of a cpu and the major clock speeds you will get out of it will help your system in general.

Thanks for the advice its much appreciated

So i will get 8gb extra ram For sure. And if the Gtx760 will run Transport fever And Cities skylines at high settings thats great.

However i know the i7 2600k can overclock etc but it only has a stock fan - so i would need to purchess a new Cpu fan?

Is it difficult to install a cpu fan? I can put a PC together but never tried to put a cpu fan on and the other part im not confident in is using thermal paste on the cpu as i tried it once on another system and the cpu failed.

Thanks

Get an AIO. Its your best bet. Thermal paste vise, its your own issue. Make sure to go slow and watch some tutorial on youtube. Dont go rambo, follow the instructions and make sure everything is tight. Some AIO's come with pre-applied thermal paste. But that isint the best. Something from arctic silver is quite good.
