My new build will only turn on for a split second then turns off. The cpu fans are not factory they are Alpine 20 Plus. The fans are connected by molex and when it "turns off" the fans stop turning and nothing has power but the motherboard still has the light on for the Ethernet jack. Sot it doesnt actually turn off there is just no power to to certain parts. I am using two Xeon e5 2660 CPUs. I tried turning it on with one CPU and with only one ram stick in every slot. There is no video either which I am using a GTX 1050 TI OC which works in a different computer. The motherboard has no integrated graphics. The motherboard is from a Dell Precision T5600. The power supply is KDM Brand 875 watts and was tested in a different computer and works. I even checked the standoffs. I also tried turning it on with a screwdriver using the power pins. I tried powering it on without the hard drive or fans (except for cpu fan). Please help.

Is it the fans not being connected to the motherboard? If so how can I bypass this without buying the correct fans that fit in the fan plugs?

Is KDM 875w power supply bad and only is outputting less wattage?

I have the 12v power connections connected, I have checked the pins and they seem fine.

Yes the cpu fans are connected by molex, and yes the motherboard has 5 pin connectors which I tried to fit in but wouldn't

Ok, would this safety feature stop the computer like this? (turn off right after it turns on but still have 5vSB)

Or pull the wires off the original cpu fan connector, put it on one of the artic fans. See what happens

Well most computers have to have the cpu fan connected to the cpu header.

Having it on a molex may make the fan spin but the system wouldnt know that

I think this is the kind of plug you need for the end of the fans

I would take the mobo into a pc shop and see if you can get a plug that fits the cpu fan header first then go from there

Do you think it could be the problem with the case fans aswell if this doesnt work? Or would it just give a warning on the boot

I am going to try the cutting the 4 pin fan connector into individual wires and let you know if it is solved
