i was wondering if anyone could tell me whats wrong with my build. I have horrible fps in certain games like Playerunkown battle grounds and H1Z1. It feels like im getting throttled and cannot run these games at the lowest settings possible. Also have duo monitors and my loading screens are slow. I have a 5 second start up. My specs are

I was not impressed with Ryzen, I think it was my own expectation, which it did not meet. The i7 did better in every game tested. But the top of the line i7 is over kill for most games and over priced. An i5 OC is fast enough for most games and the r9 390. The Ryzen will force the price of the Intel chips down. I think the Ryzen is 1/3 the cost of the top i7. So if your on a budget and want the best bang for the buck at the top of the CPU charts, the Ryzen would be it for now.

If you have a 1080 and want to get the max out of it you would need a i7 or a Ryzen. And all of this would depend on the game and max resolution played.

Well let start with the RAM. 1 Stick in single channel mode will slow you down. Get 2 sticks the same and run in dual channel mode. The ram and CPU are both slow. I dont keep up with AMD so I am not sure were your CPU is on the list.

You need to run your games and have CPU-z and GPU-z and HWmonitor running.
See what is at 100%.

Not A fanboy of any product just stating facts. The Intel CPUs are faster in games than the AMD CPUs.

And my i5 3570K @4.2 is the bottleneck on BF1 with a r9 390X 8 GB. It all depends on the games you play some need more CPU and others push the GPU harder. You need to test for each game you play.

thank you for replying. i put it into dual channel mode like you said, weird thing is on my mother board ram slot 2 and 4 activate dual mode. It did help but im still not running at full performace as i should be what went from 15 fps i now get 25. i think overall i have to replace my motherboard and cpu. Thank you!

A CPU and Board upgrade would help. Any i5 ending with a K will work nice with that GPU. You did not list your PSU.

The 390 GPU needs and loves lots of power. The recommended PSU is a 650 to 750. Run the tools I listed to make sure your GPU and CPU are running at full speed.

But your CPU is the bottleneck. But make sure your system is running at the max it can.

olin9 forgot to mention Ryzen cpus. The Ryzen 5 just came out and 7's have been benchmarked and you can google results against Intel's cpus they are very close and/or better for gaming. Ryzen prices are much less than Intel's also.
Playerunknown is in beta process, if you watch on Twitch everyone has low fps and latency issues. Not sure of H1Z1. AMD Phenom II X6 or higher is recommended for it. Your RAM probably would be good to get that upgraded also.
