Hello, I have an i5 4690k and am currently using the stock cooler as the cpu cooler but I keep getting pretty high temps ranging from 70-85°C on loads 50% and higher, those are some concerning numbers in my opinion, either way my question would be would an aftermarket cooler such as the hyper 212 Evo reduce those temps and by how much approximately? Room temp is usually around 20°C where I keep the computer if that matters.

Solution
the Cryorig M9i and Dark Rock Slim will be near that.

Other options are the Hyper 412S, Hyper 212, Cryorig H7.

It depends on looks aswell and what you like most

If your room temp is 20 degrees then your CPU shouldn't be hitting such temperatures. If you wish to you can add a CPU cooler try the Cryorig M9i or the BeQuiet! Pure Rock Slim.

However, check your CPU cooler for dust. If there is no dust hindering any form of cooling, try taking off the CPU cooler and re-applying thermal paste. Then carefully install and make sure every pin is seated properly and see what the temps are like.

Yeah I know I find it odd too, the cooler seems to be seated properly thought but one of the pins is kind of broken maybe it is that ? Also maybe it is because the paste I used is bad ? I'll also have a look at those coolers

I could afford sth up to 60 euros in price for now, and I do not intend on overclocking my cpu anytime soon, all I'm looking for is a cooler that will keep my cpu cool under heavy load such as generally video rendering and maybe some games. Possibly under 60 degrees would be great, so if any of the coolers you guys suggested will do that for me it would be great.

For the looks it would be Cryorigs M9i, for as long as it can keep the temps low, I'd definitely go for that one appearance wise, but my main requirement is for it to keep the cpu cool under heavy load, other stuff dont matter as much. Do you think the M9i can do that ?

Alright then thanks, I'll get the M9i along with a case fan, hopefully it does it for me.
