I bought i3 6100
a lga1152 ddr3l motherboard
And I have ddr3 ram

I want to know what would happen if you place the ddr3 into the ddr3L
Also is there a way to undervolt it manually?

PS. I know ddr3l is low voltage. I just wanna know what would happen.I don't want recommendations on buying other RAM. Thanks

In theory you should be able to set your VTT Voltage to around ~0.930V and memory voltage to 1.35V in BIOS, but only tests by the user will show how stable that'll run. You might have to make small refinements to your latency timings based on how it performs. Run a MemTest if everything seems normal on start-up.
It will work. But it will damage cpu also.
You have to lower ram voltage in BIOS to 1.35V to avoid that.
Problem is, that in doing so, system might become unstable or refuse to operate at all. You will need to manually lower ram frequency settings and adjust latency timings. It's kind of opposite of overclocking.

Not good advice because It's not true.

I asked you for your memory specs in the other thread and never got a complete answer. If you did I could've helped in the other thread. Some DDR3 memory runs at 1.35V from base, so in such a case underclocking/undervolting might not even be necessary.

Well .. damage will not occur instantly, but from prolonged operating in increased voltage mode.

Generally - you start system with DDR3,
boot into BIOS,
set ram voltage to 1.35V,
lower ram frequency to minimum available,
save/reboot and check stability;
if everything is ok, increase ram frequency and save/reboot/check again
and repeat last step until stability is no more.

I didn't know.
I sent you a little of my specs.
You never responded.
I will give you a screenshot when I get home.

My voltage is 1.5V. I do not know my CAS. I will check when I get home.

Thanks for the advice.
Memtest is a program downloaded online right?
If so do I open the program right when my computer starts up after I change my voltage to see if is stable.

Don't mind me asking but where is the Windows Memory Diagnostics. I am going to install my new motherboard tmr.
Thanks, now I know that I can undervolt my RAM.
