Laptop shuts down automatically

I have a Dell Inspiron 3520 with 2 GB of RAM and 2.2 GHz Intel i3 processor.
I played games like GTA IV, Prototype 2 etc. on my laptop and that runs perfectly.
Once I updated my Video Driver by DRP 16.3. Since then, my laptop shuts down when playing small games also and also when using Chrome for more than 1 hour.
I uninstalled that driver and installed the older one but the problem continues.
Please help......

IF you're using Windows 7....... (you didn't say)

It's possible the new driver was incompatible and the old one was no longer supported. But it really sounds like it's a different issue on your pc. I suggest you look in your Event Viewer for any red/yellow warnings and errors.

Look at the date and time you installed the new driver to see what events were recorded immediately after that time. The EV should give you an error number and some instructions about the error or "event". It will direct you to an online help page where you can look up the error number. If not then Google the error number and you will get some choices to research.
