Can a slow Hard Drive cause bad gaming performance?

I have run a benchmark with CrystalDiskMark, and i have got some results that i am curious about.
If it maybe is causing my games to run poorly. Please have a look at my test results, and tell me if it may be the reason.

Full System Specs:

Motherboard: MSI H97 Gaming 3
CPU: i5-4690k 3.50Ghz
GPU: MSI GTX 980 Ti
RAM: 16 Gb 799mhz DDR3
SSD: 120 GB KINGSTON
HDD: 1 TB Western Digital WDC

Speeds look normal for a platter drive.

It really depends on the game. Some open world games or older, unoptimized games can stutter if loading from a slow disk. Some really only load slowly when they're loading levels/scenes and are hitting the disk, then load most of it into RAM.

I run 98% of my games off the platter drive, but some (SOMA) take a performance hit unless they're on the SSD.

It is sadly not a typo. I am currently saving up some money to buy a new pc, and only keep the graphics card from my current pc

My HDD is about 2,5-3 years old
