I've picked these parts for my build. I already have the CPU and SSD but haven't bought the rest yet.

Parts Bought
Intel i5 6600 CPU £145.29
SSD kingston 240gb SSD £56.30

Parts I Plan to Buy
EVGA 430w 80+ PSU £34.49
CoolerMaster Elite 110 Case £41.49
ASUS B150I PRO GAMING/WIFI/AURA Intel Socket 1151 Motherboard mITX £101.89
AOC I2481FXH 23.8" 1920x1080 60Hz Monitor £136.98
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory £113.27

Are all these parts compatible?

Is this PSU regarded as reliable in the long term, if not which PSU should I get?

What half length 4GB GPU would you recommend at a cost efficient price?

Any cost effective alternatives to my components list?

Any other suggestions at all would be most welcome as I'm very much a noob.

Usage habits: Quite a lot of web browsing and office programs. Plan to use it for the odd bit of mid-level gaming. I tend to leave my PC on all day for most days so power efficiency & safety are quite important.

Solution
You don't need a very expensive motherboard if you aren't going to use its nifty features. The power supply is quite low quality. The cooler master elite 110 is an alright case, but it restricts quite alot of airflow. If you could get just a slightly bigger case, i would recommend the Thermaltake V1. The monitor you chose is a good IPS and has little ghosting.

These are the changes i would make, also this same case is also available in white (snow edition) and is for about £10 more.

Also, 16Gb ram is all you'l ever need, you wont need to add another 8gb more in the future. The RX 480 is a killer card, equivalent to the GTX 1060.
