hey guys

ive got an EVGA gtx 1060 3gb sc and ive overclocked it +120 clock speed and +500 memory speed with voltage meter set to max. when i play GTA V on the overclocked values on ultra details the card performs amazing. i get +60 fps most of the time and when it drops it doesnt drop below 50. but when i try the same exact everything on the card's default values i get a stable 35 fps and it goes up to 50 at the very best.

Same setup, same room temp, same graphic settings, same custom fan curve. Does this seem normal ? cause it doesnt to me.
my setup
i5 4440
h81
evga gtx 1060
8gb ddr3
win 10 pro

If using V-sync, that type of behavior isn't uncommon when you are barely able to reach 60 FPS with OC, and not without. Most games use a double buffer system, and with V-sync on, if a frame takes longer than 16.7ms to render, it has to wait 33.3ms before it can be displayed, and during that extra time waiting, the game cannot start rendering a new frame. If it is consistently unable to create frames faster than 16.7ms, this will continue to happen, over and over, resulting in 30 FPS. If it occasionally does beat that 16.7ms rendering time, then you'll get some extra FPS and reach the 35 FPS you see. The same can happen on the other end if you only occasionally fail to render a frame within 16.7ms, then it only drops a little below...

You'd need to run proper gfx card benchmark software to properly compare. Try 3DMark, Heaven or Valley e.g. google "heaven benchmark download"

Getting close to 100% speed boost after overclocking for any gfx card is unheard of.

Surely not, 100% boost on oc is non logic lol. Unigine Heaven score on default is 1664 with 66fps avg and 1784 score with 71 fps avg on oc mode. what is driving me crazy is GTA V !! it just doesnt make sense.

If you turn V-sync off, you'll likely see less variance in the FPS between stock and OC.
