Hello everyone, I'm looking for the absolute best build possible. It does not have to look amazing but I'd prefer it to at least match a bit. Thanks!

~

Approximate Purchase Date: As soon as possible, next month maximum.

Budget Range: $1000 to $1100 USD

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Multitasking, editing, gaming, surfing the internet, graphic design, file transfer.

Are you buying a monitor: No.

Do you need to buy OS: Yes (Windows 10 32/64USB, include in price.)

Location: Virginia, United States

Parts Preferences: Make it stable. Nothing new and fancy unless it's been out for a few months.

Overclocking: No.

Additional Comments: Fairly quiet, just make it the best possible. Nothing that costs extra just for show. Memory like the black G.Skill NT is fine with me as long as it performs well and shows no glaring problems when people have tested it. Try to match colors though, I'm not looking for green RAM, an orange motherboard, or a pink SSD. Something like black and blue. I'd prefer not to have black and red. Also, include an SSD if you can. The WD Blue SSD is nice.

Solution
^Haha, yeah, I didn't. Not used to seeing WD followed by SSD.

In that case, you can't go wrong with Noctua - although, wait, are you sure you're okay with the color? What happened to the black and blue scheme? ; ) Check out Cryorig for more decent looking coolers.

What will be the primary purpose of your build? I don't have much experience with Ryzen but reviews show it's better for rendering/video editing (moar cores) while Kaby Lake is better for gaming.

With general questions like these where you're asking someone to source/personal shop so many components it would be great if you could list some things you've considered e.g. use pcpartpicker then ask us to comment.

Which resolution will you be gaming in? If you have a 1080 60Hz monitor, I'd prefer an i7 in this budget instead of the 1070 (to cover your editing requirement). Since you focused on color, I preferred an all black premium Asus Strix for the graphics card - instead of the slightly lower priced MSI or Gigabyte. Stuck with non-K chips since you haven't mentioned anything regarding OC'ing.

However, I'd get a smaller SSD and get the GTX 1070, if you can afford to spend a few more bucks.

Just wondering, why an i7 for 1080P?

^Edited - I meant to say I'd put in money in the processor instead of graphics card, since he won't need a 1070 for gaming at 1080p 60Hz but the i7 may come in handy for his editing.

I like your thinking with the i7, I could try to fit it in. Otherwise thoughts on Ryzen?

^You don't need a CPU cooler with that cooler. The stock cooler will suffice.

I'd also put in at least a 120GB SSD for your OS. Makes a significant difference to your boot times.

Instead of the GTX 1060, many prefer the RX 480 since it is much better value for money.

I don't think you saw the words "Solid State Drive" on the drive. Finally Western Digital makes SSDs!

The 480 is a great idea, I'll check on that.

The stock cooler is too loud for me.

Editing is the primary purpose. Gaming is a close second. I might have to wait a bit longer for Ryzen 5 but it should be worth it. The 1600 looks great for my purpose. Thanks overall!

If you look around the Ryzen series also has lots of threads (8-12)

Haha, I actually think the Noctua goes with almost anything. It's a really nice brand and actually adds to making your computer look cleaner. I like clean and simple over LEDS LEDS LEDS YAY GIVE ME FLASHY LIGHTS AND BRIGHT GREEN PARTS. Check out Wings of Freedom on PCPP if you want to see an accurate rendition of my style.
