Dual boot system with Windows 7 and Ubuntu. Incompatibility between GRUB and Veracrypt full disk encryption.

I just purchased a laptop with 2 separate internal SSD hard drives, one with Ubuntu and the other with Windows 7 professional. When I boot up, I get the GNU GRUB boot loader with the following options:

Ubuntu
Advanced options for Ubuntu
Memory test (memtest86+)
Memory test (memtest86+, serial console 115200)
Windows 7 (loader) (on /dev/sda1)

Both operating systems boot up just fine. I use Windows 7 for all of my computing at this point. Reason for getting Ubuntu was to start learning it…I know very little at this point.

My company has a firm requirement that my Windows harddrive have full disk encryption. For the last year, I've used Veracrypt for this purpose on my old computer (single boot into Windows 7) without problem.

Current problem is that Veracrypt appears to be incompatible with GRUB boot loader.

What would be the easiest way to get full disk encryption on my Windows hard-drive with Veracrypt? Could I get rid of the GRUB boot loader somehow and just go into bios and manually select which hard-drive to boot up? Currently when I get into bios, I only have option of booting to the harddrive with Ubuntu or to a DVD drive.

I’d be willing to lose the Ubuntu installation if that makes things easier. I would like to keep Windows 7 hard-drive installation as this is nearly ready to go.

Thank you. I really appreciate any help you could give me.
