Hi,
I currently have Core 2 duo e7500 and GTX 680. I know that processor is too weak for GPU. But question is.. In every game cpu usage reaches 100% in no time and GPU remains on 20-60% usage depending upon game. Like nfs rivals lag a lot and GPU usage is around 30-40% after updating drivers performance decreased a lot. I wanna ask which drivers are best for GTX 680. Also I have ordered xeon x5460.. Will it bottleneck? How to increase Gpu usage? How to play games like gta 5 without lag on normal even. People with gtx 680 plays gta on ultra 1080p with 80+ fps! HELP Me! Also i have 4 GB ram and Corsair VS650. (don't have budget to buy better power supply) also my motherboard can't overclock cpu.

Solution
The GTX 680 for 80 bucks honestly isn't even really that good of a deal just because it's so old and newer games are very poorly optimized for Kepler. Just as a rule of thumb, spending money on older equipment is usually a bad investment when it comes to computers. No, there's not really any option other than upgrading your mobo and CPU if you want to get decent frame rates in GTA V.
There's not a single CPU on that motherboard that's going to be able to take full advantage of the GTX 680 and the drivers aren't the problem. Your GPU usage is so low because your CPU isn't strong enough to pump out the frames the GPU is capable of. That Xeon you ordered will still bottleneck, but not quite as bad. GTA V is a very CPU dependent title and if you want to get 60 FPS your only option is to upgrade your CPU and motherboard.

Is this from your own experience? Because I dont find that to be true.

Things like the 680 that can be picked up cheap and perform aswell as modern cards like the 960 and save a few $$ while doing it.

In terms of price to performance the used market is king.

Good. With double the cores and double the L2 cache per core you should see a signififcant improvement for gaming.

Be aware that you are upgrading from a 65w cpu to a 120w cpu and may need a new cooler

Sure the used market is fine, but not for Nvidia cards that are 3+ generations old. It's not hard to find GTX 970s for $120 locally these days, that's a much better deal. If I had exactly $80 to spend and wanted something used and old, the HD 7970 would be a much better purchase. You can even find GTX 960s for $90 or so, I'd rather have a newer, cooler card on an architecture that game devs are still optimizing for. I'm not saying used cards are bad, I'm just saying there are better ways to spend money than on old Kepler cards.
