Hello

Recently my EVGA 980 Ti SC ACX2.0 got fried... Sad times indeed... But after some research and study. I found out that the ACX coolers don't cool some power regulators properly or at all (and they can get pretty hot)... So probably that "little" detail was the problem with my card as well... It is currently getting fixed with warranty, but even if they fix it or send me a new one, this problem will reoccur most likely and then it will be out of warranty. So I figured it is best to get a new one, since I am already planning an upgrade to that monstrous 1080 Ti...

And for that purpose I narrowed down my choice to the MSI Gaming X and EVGA sc ICX...

You might be wondering why I decided to give EVGA another chance... It is because I saw they changed their cooler quite a bit, mostly by sticking as much thermal pads in there as possible, to the point that it actually cools and that all their new cards have a Integrated 20 amp fuse in case something goes wrong it will pop and save the internals of the card...

But on the other hand the MSI gaming X series has really really good reputation and hasn't had serious problems with their models from quite a long time. And generally are/were always on top of EVGA in terms of performance/cooling/noise...

So yeah the question is wich one would be the better choice?

I would like to get myself Sea hawk X but it will be ages until it appears on the markets here in Bulgaria...

So yeah, what do you guys think?

So basically all the thermal pads they added, aren't really a solution to the problem with EVGA even if it says it cools better on statistics?

I am currently looking trough MSI's card architecture and internals on gamers nexus, and it looks way much more cleaner than the EVGA's and much easier to cool due to the clean build... I guess Gaming X it is then :)
